November is quickly approaching and the political atmosphere seems to be looming over everything. I don’t enjoy politics, but as George Orwell says, “In our age there is no such thing, as ‘keeping out of politics’. All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred and schizophrenia.”
I won’t tell you (as if you would listen) for whom you ought to cast your vote. In this election it seems more like casting lots (or perhaps more aptly, stones) than Democracy.
I will say I am grieved by the blind devotion of Americans to men and women who display more deceit than integrity, and the overall unwillingness to question our systematic thinking (in either party).
And I am thankful that,
“[God] changes times and seasons;
He removes kings and
sets up kings (Daniel 2:21).”
And that no crime, tyranny, nor oppression has gone unnoticed by the one who spun planets into space. I am thankful that his kingdom is full of grace, truth, mercy, and justice.
I hold no hope in Democracy
How can I possibly?
You, with your [dis]honest rhetoric
Words playing on your mouth to
—————————mock
—————————divide
—————————conquer
People are only money, you say
Pride-wagging head, [false] hope in guilty hands
I hold no hope in Democracy
How can I possibly?
You, with one hand held for equality
The other quietly smothers
—————————babes
—————————family
—————————freedom
People are only the State, you say
Pride-wagging head, [false] hope in guilty hands
I hold no hope in Democracy
How can I possibly?
You, with your firm feminist dogma
Life-worn, lying face decrees
—————————greed
—————————sameness
—————————silence
People are only pawns, you say
Pride-wagging head, [false] hope in guilty hands
I hold no hope in Democracy
How can I possibly?
You, with your oval office power
Smiling warm–you sign away
—————————life
—————————order
—————————reason
People are only disposable, you say
Pride-wagging head, [shattered] hope in guilty hands
I hold no hope in Democracy
How can I possibly?
You, with your time-tested, love-worn words
Living human antithesis
—————————-serve
—————————-sacrifice
—————————-believe
People are dearly mine, you say
Thorn crowned head, [certain] hope in nail-pierced hands
I hold hope in only you
Or is it you holding me?
Democracy is the best form of government we have on this earth ONLY if Jesus Christ is allowed to reign in the human heart. Without Him, true democracy fades and dies.
