Quotidian Clarity: A Poem

It is not
a room of my own
I am missing.

But an offering,
that opens
myself as home

From cozy womb
to warm embrace.
grow, nourish, care

It is not
tearing out
yellow wallpaper

But seeing
tendrils of life
in dishes and laundry and lunch

From filling what is empty,
to giving rest and belonging.
love, love, love

It is not escape,
shattered glass,
nor caged bird free

But building
a place
of hope and longing and peace

From sleepless eyes,
stretched body and mind.
home, welcome, trust

It is not
out there, a
journey to self

But giving
in blissful
self-forgetting

From empty to brim-full
of water to give,
a water that lives
